Overview
The Umarex Notos Chamber Breech Safety Flag by Dark Range Systems provides clear visual and tactile confirmation that the rifle is safe and unloaded.
High-visibility orange is the primary color used across competitive airgun disciplines in the United States, including events organized by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), the American Airgun Field Target Association (AAFTA), and the Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge (RMAC). These organizations and others designate fluorescent orange or similarly bright colors as the standard for safety indicators at formal ranges.
High-visibility yellow remains the long-established safety color used by U.S. and NATO forces for clearing devices and chamber indicators. Often referred to as a breech flag or chamber safety indicator, this device prevents accidental bolt closure, signals that the chamber is clear, and protects internal breech surfaces.
Design and Usage
The chamber breech flag device is engineered around the rifle’s breech geometry for a precise and secure fit. When inserted, it occupies the loading channel and allows the bolt to only partially pass through, mechanically preventing loading or firing.
Its contoured rear section allows easy insertion and removal without tools or excessive force. The raised SAFE and S letter markings are easy to identify by sight or touch, even in low-light conditions or under night-vision equipment.
Installation is simple: open the bolt, insert the chamber flag device through the magazine well, and close the bolt gently through the opening. The flag can remain in place during handling, transport, or dry-fire practice. Its high-visibility color provides an unmistakable safe signal even from a distance.
Materials
The chamber flag device is manufactured from a premium matte polymer selected for rigidity, dimensional accuracy, and surface uniformity.
Quality and Inspection
Each unit is individually printed and inspected for fit and function prior to shipping.
Minor surface texture or layer variation is an inherent characteristic of additive manufacturing and does not affect performance or fit.
